Disney Trivia

Here is some trivia to keep you entertained. Answer as many as you can in the comments!

What movie was the only animated film to ever be nominated for an Academy Award best picture?

How many "lands" are in Magic Kingdom?

What was Buzz Lightyears name originally going to be?

How many feet tall is the Hollywood Tower of Terror?

What does Epcot stand for?

What is the largest Disney World Park?

What full length animated feature has the most songs in it?

What animated feature has been released in theaters the most?

What did Walt originally want to name Mickey Mouse?

How many gallons of water does Stormalong Bay (the amazing pool at Yacht and Beach) hold?

How many miles is the monorail system?

Did you know???

Walt wanted to do a Rapunzel movie during his lifetime but they couldn't think of a good story line adaptation. It was taken off the shelf every decade until 1999 when it was story lined to be a Shrek-esq version with pop culture references and such. They decided not to do it and instead thought of a modern day concept setting in NYC. That didn't work, but what did come of it was the movie Enchanted. They finally had a story line for Rapunzel and ended up with Tangled, made the previews be nothing too girly to get the boys in the theater, and here we finally have a movie, decades in the making.

Imagineers called upon chess masters to lay out a situation during the game in where there would be no winner. If you look at the pirates playing chess in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, you will see that board lay out. This is intentional so they will be pondering their next move for all eternity.

Kodak Moments

Most of my job here is actually taking photos for families so it looks like mom was actually on vacation in the pictures. I enjoy that and I offer to take pictures even when not at work. This had me ask my Uncle Dave to send me a classic family photo of our trip to Disney in 1999. If you have sensitive eyes, I would look away now.

One of the bad things about taking vacations during awkward stages of life and development is the photographic proof of how hideous you actually were.

On Tuesday I got to hang out with Billy one more day before he left and we hung out at Hollywood Studios with his family and went to Portobellos in Downtown Disney for dinner. His mom was hilarious and was so kind in taking me out to dinner. Favorite line, "$255 dollars for a 2 oz pour of cognac?! It better be from Thomas Jefferson's liquor cabinet at that price." I am so glad I decided to work for a place that people visit because having visitors is a very big plus in being here.

Today I was supposed to have a day off and go to the beach but I ended up taking a shift. Having extra money is always nice, especially when my hours are way lower then I expected. It was an easy shift with easy money. I didn't have any parents complain, it only rained for five minutes, and Lauren walked over from Epcot to see me on the job. It's neat we have the same job but at two different regions because we can compare how we do different things. Yacht and Beach is always the test site for new ideas so if it goes well there, it is then brought out to every region.

Because I am no stranger to embarrassing moments, I got hit in the face with the microphone the other day. So bad, the lines in the microphone head were left in my chin. The microphone was also on so everyone in the pool just heard a loud thud and couldn't help but laugh. I would too if I witnessed it.

Now I"m just back to working most days so my blogs will get very boring. I apologize. My life is not that exciting and I have found that I am def. not someone who can sit in an office all day long or do the same thing day in and day out. However, tonight I got to go out with the lifeguards after work and it was really funny hanging out with coworkers. I feel like a big person now that hanging out with coworkers actually means going out and isn't just getting food at Ikes at midnight and having gab session about drama and work. I can actually separate work, home,  school, and relationships here which is a nice change of pace.

At work there is this creepy lifeguard who cannot take a hint. This is a reenactment of how our interactions go.

Speaking of lifeguards, Alicia reminded me of the hilarious story at Culver lake when she got a tiny cut on her leg on the dock and didn't want to go in the water because she thought it was salt water and it would hurt. The lifeguard jumped in to get her and help her get to the beach area but she ended up jumping in and swimming with her noodle away from the lifeguard. We even told her it was one from Baywatch and she still swam away! She also has this joke about Marry Poppins. I think goes like this:

When you are bored, you can just "pop-in" a movie!

Pause for reaction.

This picture will never get old. At least we confirmed this picture was actually taken at Halloween and she wasn't just wearing the costume for no reason.

Happy Weekend!

With F-I-G-M-E-N-T, you see more Clearly

It only works if you sing that line, as they do in the Journey into Imagination with Figment ride in Epcot.

I finally have my voice back which is great because working was becoming a nuisance without it. Yesterday I had to work 12:30-9 with our first pool side activity beingBingo and let me tell you, not having a voice and having to call out numbers is a horrible way to start the day but the guests thought it was funny. During my amazing (no sarcasm) Bingo game, we had a guest in the pool have an asthma attack. I cleared the pool area and turned the music off which is protocol and waited for the OK to start things up again. Once we saw he was fine but before I got the OK, I had guests hounding me to start the game up again. Really people? Chill. It's poolside bingo where the winner gets a board game and we have a guy who can't breathe. It was a scorching hot day, something my NJ and VA/DC readers haven't experienced yet this summer so people were very on edge. I should have seen that as a foreshadowing for how the rest of the day would go....

During the pool party, we were playing a game where the kids had to use a ball to target shoot through a hula hoop. Not exciting, but we used harder balls and i got wacked in the face, chest, and arm. Realizing this was a terrible game we moved onto squish balls and I had a kidhold the hoop. Well the kid kept getting hit by the ball and his mother grabbed my arm and started yelling that if the kids don't stop hitting her kid with the ball she was going to take the other kids out of the pool. Fine. Later in the party, we played a game where the kids have to swim to find animals in the pool. Well of course that same boy got kicked and started crying so the mom freaked out on me again saying our games aren't safe. People need to realize that we are not babysitters we are just facilitators of fun (!) and we are not responsible to watch your child. Of course we will make sure everyone is safe but please don't drop your kid off with me and leave to have lunch. That will not get you mom of the year. I thought she would be our only complainer of the day but I was wrong. I had another mom come up to me complaining that we weren't allowed to wear crocs like the lifeguards and that it's not fair to us and one of the lifeguards made her "anxious with all her pacing." She said she was going to make a formal complaint and walked away. It's vacation, lighten up and relax.

Relax I did today as I spent the whole day in Epcot with Billy. We had a blast catching up, walking around future world a few times and the World showcase 3 times. Billy took me to places I've never been before...Epcot style. We first went to Living with the Land which is a cool sit and see where you see what vegetation is grown at Epcot. We then went to Captain EO that stars the late Michael Jackson, was produced by George Lucas, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. What a great starting lineup. This must be the cinematic performance of the millennium considering it was shown from 1986-1997 and now back for an encore run. Before we walked in I asked Billy what the purpose of the movie was andhe said just wait. Man. MJ made pretty poor life choices but this has to be his number 1. The movie is bizarre, it's in 3-d and again there is no point. However, I recommend seeing it because it won't bethere for long and it's 12 minutes of hilarity (especially the behind the scenes clips with thegrizzly 80s beards and spandex).
What a good lookin' girl

Ride wise we went on Journey with Figment where I guess we learned how to spark our imagination, The Sea with Nemo, Norwegian Viking ride, and the Three Amigos Ride. Country wise, we walked into every country, ate in Amurica, drank in Germany, and got our picture taken in China with Mulan. We (ok me) wanted to take our picture with our drinks but they wouldn't let us :(

Tip, if you want to see the Princesses, go to Epcot during the day. Most of them are there are there are minimal lines since well, it's Epcot.

Livin The Dream

Be thankful I am writing this blog and not physically talking to you because that would be impossible to hear me since I have no voice and as a guest told me, "you sound like a 13 year old boy hitting puberty." Thank you, sir. Having virtually no voice and having to strain to talk when your job requires you to be on a microphone for 5 hours is very tough and tiring but I prevailed. Many are probably happy I don't have a voice and thus can't talk. I don't blame them.

I have had two days off this week that virtually looked identical to each other: spend hours at the pool, come in to eat, and go out either food shopping or in todays case bathing suit shopping. You would think being in Florida that would be an easy task but you are wayyy off. If you're buying one in July, you are 3 months too late. I picked one out that will make my awful tan lines blend in because of this hideous picture taken tonight at dinner with my good friend from the Squad, Billy.
He swears the tan lines aren't that bad in person

Billy is in town for a few days and we met at the Grand Floridian for dinner at Citricos. It was a beautiful restaurant with amazing food. Perhaps even the best restaurant food I've ever had. It was nice to actually dress up for once and not be in a yellow shirt with no make up on and eat food that doesn't contain powdered cheese or tuna sandwiches. Speaking of tuna, there is nothing more stressful then picking out the right kind. I'm not kidding, attempting to find chunk white down here is just as hard as finding a bathing suit in July. They must be in the same aisle.....

So earlier I had the o so hilarious story of me calling mom during the Rock'n' Roller Coaster ride. Here is the photographic evidence of that ride:
Tim, some chick, Lauren, and I

At work the other day I had one of those days. You know, a day where no matter how hard you try something ends up happening that causes you pain and others laughter? I had to start the pool party by myself again with no voice which was extremly awkward and I got alot of stares especially when my voice cracked causing the guest to make that comment. The pool was just not into particiapting in any games I had so after we did an ok round of name that singer- not tune- more on that later- I had a spontaneous dance party of every dance song we had in our IPod. After the YMCA I had the kids jump in the pool at the end. They successfully did it. I did not and ended up slipping falling backwards glasses flying off my head and I miraculously landed in the pool and not thecement.Luckily only half of the pool saw and the lifeguard walking around jumped in to make sure I was ok. No big scene here folks, just a cast member who underestimated the pool ledge. A highlight of my day was playing a request from a wife who wanted Hound Dog to play so her drunk husband could go up and dance. And dance Larry from Arizona did. His hips don't lie. After a day in the pool, my partner and I had to set up the movie and campfire. Seeing the skies getting dark as they do at one point in the day down here, I set up the screen slowly secretly hoping it would be canceled which it ended up being even though there was no storm, no rain, and it was a beautiful night. While I was wrapping up one of those thick long extension cords, I got it stuck somehow on my arm. It was wrapped so tight it took a coordinator (equivalent to a resident director) to get it off my arm. I was a pathetic site and was just relieved to know I had the next day off. That brought back memories of LM and I putting up the screen together for the first time and our personal struggles.

**I make the comment about name that singer/tune because whoever makes the schedule of events needs get more creative. Name that singer is at 2pm on Thursdays while at 2pm on Fridays is name that tune. Please tell me the difference. I mean the real difference considering we use the same playlist. We also play water basketball and on target (use a hula hoop and ball in the water) on the same day. Talk about variety.

In other news, I am now officially a graduate of George Mason University as my diploma came in the mail earlier this week. To celebrate this achievement, here is a picture, the ONLY family picture mind you, of my graduation from earlier this summer. I see Christmas card 2011 written all over this...

That Happened.

Untitled #1

Ah sorry I haven't been blogging lately, I had a fun week of work, work, work everyday, went out a few nights, and then got sickly. but now I'm okay and ready to blog! First off, the new word I hate to add to the list that includes baguette is "soiled." Horrible word.

Anyway, work has been busy but fun. Kids say the darnest things and here they are no different. My favorite was when this little girl was on my back in the pool playing with my hair saying I had hair like Rapunzel and the little boy at the camp fire who said this was the best night of his life. This other girl was obsessed with the Titanic and asked me all the details of American History from 1890- present and how old the non survivors of the Titantic would have been today. What a morbid child. Kids are really cute though when they aren't crying, whining, or complaining. I learned new versions of the Cupid Shuffle which is great since we do the dance EVERY DAY so if you want to learn how to get down, dance class will be January 7, 2012. I watched a bunch of movies on the beach, one of them being Pete's Dragon that caused me to be nastalgic of the days when Dad would put that record on and Patti and I would dance around the family room. Music, cute. Movie, way too long. Only problem with work is I don't like the one person. Only one, which is shocking to me but she is not nice and just seems angry. Here is a picture of her

Anyone know who this really is?

Back in the apartment, I accidentally exploded ketchup in the microwave. It looked like a scene from CSI. Our apartment got insepcted and for once I had to make sure the place was spotless for inspections. They were intense though; we didn't get the 'white glove" award because our mirror had a smudge on it. your beds have to be made, no dishes in the sink, and closets organized. I imagine if those were the minimum standards at Mason HSI would go much faster.

Going out was alot of fun as read in my previous post. Thursday night we went to an 80s night themed club in CityWalk in Universal. It was also the midnight premiere of Harry Potter so the place was crazy busy. Here is a picture of me making a face at this drunk guy who decided to talk to us. I feel that it sums me up in so many ways.

There are only two downfalls of being here. 1) I always smell of sweat, chlorine, and camp fire. Bottle that up, Disney! I wear mens deodorant because it's stronger and doesn't smell like daisies and I no joke had a male guest walk by me and say "you smell familiar." Awkward much? 2) I never know what day of the week it is. Ever. I really don't need to know considering I work just about everyday it all runs into each other. Only thing I need to know is what resort I should clock in at. No wonder older retirees come here, being in oblivion is common practice here.

It's so weird that at the fresh young age of 22 many people my age here are already married. I don't get it. In activities, we are mostly females with only 2 males. Lifeguards though are mostly boys with a few females. The lifeguards keep asking if i'm with someone since I wear my HS class ring on my left hand. I always vowed to take it off once I graduated college but now that I have a huge tan line from it, I don't want to. Most of the guys I work with are 19 which is tragic. Ironically, after many years of being told I look like the older sister, I have been told more often then not that I look 19. This could be because I wear my hair in a ponytail with no make up at work but still. 19?! At least make me 21.

I now know three Laurens; Lauren my roommate, Lauren the new Jersey girl from work, and "my" Lauren from Mason. I just got off the phone with her (and John who transferred me to her very professionally) and I miss my OHRL crew. Dare I say that I miss the Park? The place that I called my home for four long years, 77 personal residents, 2 RDs, 2 ACs, 3 separate small staffs, 4 different HRA roles, and one very messy resource room? In honor of them, I present the only pictures I have of both of them from the same night.

Work hard, Party (responsibly) Harder

I had to add the responsibly in because some readers would be concerned for my well being. But I'm fine! And John, no worries, I'm not reverting to freshmen in college ways that we saw our residents do. It's been a month of being down here and we are now all settled; we have a routine of work, where to go shopping, and new friends. Settling in was a transition but now we are all having fun in our own individual ways in the apartment. Last night was our first night ever going out together and it was an interesting experience. We went to Jelly Rolls with a few people and I invited a friend (Colleen) from work. When you look around you can tell who is here on vacation, a conference, or works here. Those on vacation drink up and be merry because hell, it's vacation. Those here for a conference drink their beer, maybe a dark liquor, wife if not with them and they don't seem to mind too much. Those who work on property stick out because they seem more comfortable with their surroundings, like it is their bar and you are all just invited guests. We stayed until closing which although it is 2 am they make sure you are walking out the door by 1:40 so you are technically to your car by 2. I drove this time and so I only had 1 beer and wasted it on a Bud light that tasted like college, if college had a taste.

Earlier in the day I had to babysit kids for an Edward Jones Conference we had. Awkwardly enough I saw some of the dads at Jelly Rolls later that night sans kids. Since we had to be in at 8 am, we had to clock in fifteen to five minutes before hand. I set two alarms, with the earliest being 6:38. Somehow, I slept through the alarms and luckily randomly woke up at 7:33 am and jumped out of bed and got ready faster then I ever did back in high school when Patti would get in the car and start leaving without me or at Mason when I would literally go to our 10 am Tuesday meetings in whatever I wore to bed, slipped on my white slippers, tie dye sweatshirt, and walked out. Because I pull my clothes out the night before and pack my backpack, I was in the car (no lying) by 7:36 am. I got to work and clocked in at7:51. Applause is in order. When I told my story, people were surprised i actually looked put together. After the gig, which ended at 1:30, I went for a run from Hollywood studios to Epcot and a lap around the Boardwalk. Now it's 2 pm outside in Florida. I made the poor life choice of running but I had my brand new Nike running outfit I couldn't resist to test it out. Once I got to my car it said it was 104 degrees. I'm actually getting used to the heat though and as long as there is a breeze it's manageable.

Today I was back outside (finally) to work. I'm outside the next few days which is amazing. I have found that I enjoy the pool parties better at Boardwalk because the pool is easier to do activities in and the crowd of people is more fun. Yacht and Beach the pool is amazing but it's hard to get the crowd going as much. However, the camp fire and movie is much better at Y&B because it's on the beach and you can see the fireworks from both Epcot and Hollywood. Again, not as fascinated at fireworks as most people, but it is cool to watch them on the sand. We watched Tangled (not one of my favorites honestly) and the night was just beautiful. Considering today was one of the hottest days we've had so far, the night was gorgeous. Full moon, sky full of stars, no humidity, slight breeze. It was one of those nights where you could wear anything and be comfortable. Only thing I was missing as I was sitting in a lounge chair watching the movie was 1) a drink 2) someone to watch it with. I would take #1 over #2 unless #2 brought #1 over to me and in that case I would take both #1 and #2.

After work, I met Colleen at Buffalo Wild Wings since it is their "club night" That's right, the same place where you can eat endless boneless wings turns into a club Wednesday night. I was shocked that at midnight the line was 100 deep and inside had karaoke while the patio had club music and alot of sweaty people. Since I can't help observing people, I made me laugh how people were dressed. Most of the kids are still in college and in that Thirsty Thursday mindset so they are dressed in dresses, heels, heavy make up. I was the opposite. My hair was up, I smelt like a camp fire and chorine, and wore jeans and a tank. I would say I was underdressed but I was at Wing joint in the middle of a shopping center. It was fun though and again reminiscent of college days. I know those weren't that long ago but since I rarely went out in college I would imagine if I did this is what it would feel like. Since most of the people in there were CPs, they were complaining when we got out at 2 am what time they had work tomorrow. Luckily I work 3-11:30 all week so I don't have that issue.

Not sure if I mentioned this in an earlier blog, but working here you see mixed emotions from everyone. Tiredness, crabiness, to hungry, and thats just the parents! Kids go from happy to sad in an instant and you almost feel bad. If you are bringing kids here in the summer, know how to do it and don't drag them around all day because everyone involved will be miserable. I see these kids and want to just smile looking at how cute they are but then I turn around and they are throwing random tantrums and mom is yelling at them and I am so happy I send them on their way after the movie. Maybe I'm not so much a kid person as I was when I got here.....

I will need to start taking more pictures but I haven't been out much and clearly I can't be trusted with electronics in the Parks. Here is a MySpace-esq photo of myself before work finally.

I know some people have been having trouble commenting on the posts. What you need to do is click "comments" and scroll down. You can then add yours. Not sure why this changed but we roll with the punches.

Anywho, I had three days off in a row which is a rareity here. At first I was bummed but after wasting my first day on the couch recovering from 4th of July, I was happy to have 2 more days to be productive with. I had to take the bus to get my car back from Boardwalk so I figured I would run the path that goes from Hollywood Studios to Epcot. It's not far of a run but even at 730 pm the humidity is insanely high. Wednesday Lauren and I went to Hollywood Studios with another friend which was fun being a tourist again for a half day. If you ever go, you must watch the American Idol auditions, they were fun! Make sure you don't eat before you go on Star Tours, terrible idea. Motion sickness will occur. Since I had bad luck leaving things on rides this week I only walked in with my phone, ID, and a $20. The ID and money I stuck down my shirt as always but the phone I had in my pocket. On Rockin' Roller Coaster as soon as you sit down they make sure you are belted without even giving you time to put your stuff in the pouch. I had my phone in my hand but couldn't reach the pouch so I gave the phone to Lauren who also couldn't reach and accidentally dropped it. No attractions attendant came over or heard us (scary thought) so I had to step on my phone during the whole ride. The ride is amazing and I ended up accidentally calling Mom so she got to hear screams from a ride she will never experience due to fears. I clearly have issues with electronics and rides. We went to the animation studios and we learned how to draw Rapunzel. I'm a fantastic artist as seen in my coloring books however this drawing looked more like the Bride of Rapunzel. It's hanging on the fridge proud though. We also saw the Beauty and the Beast show which was fun and the end scene with everyone dancing and Belle is in her yellow dress looked like a preview of the festivities happening on June 30, 2012.

The third day of my day off was supposed to be one of running errands. However, it turned out I would be driving around in the pouring rain, getting yelled at the gas station for pumping gas in a storm, and waiting 3 hours in the apple store to be helped for my crapbook. On my way to the mall on I-4, I saw kept seeing signs for the "Holy Land Experience" a park or something that is religious based and very graphic from the pictures. Turns out, the mall and the Holy Land Experience are off the same exit, just different direction. Any coincidence there? Not for this chick.

I had to go back to work on Friday which was fine, I was ready. After I got out at 9 I met Claudia and Lauren at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney. The place was packed. I mean the waiting list was 90 mins which is crazy. You're on vacation and you're going to go to Planet Hollywood?! I've never been in my life so this was a crazy idea to me but since we get to skip the line on Friday's if we show our ID I really didn't care. THe food was pretty good and I asked the waitress how many people the restaurant seats in total. She said there are three floors and they all seat 220-250. They can flip tables several times a night, and in the summer the waiting list can be anywhere from 30 mins to 2.5 hours?! People, come on. You want mediocre American food hit up Applebees. Never a line, trust me.

Today I had a rough day at work. I found out I was being moved down to 32 hours a week (all college program kids are in my area) I had a rough time in my CPR in service because I find our rescue procedures to be useless (we aren't allowed to do anything, we must wait for a lifeguard even though we are trained) and I hate working inside. Only perk was I watched The Lizzie McQuire movie and Muppets Treasure island and made beaded bracelets. I'm going to take the information in stride though and I'm going to see if I can do ride alongs with the Reedy Creek Improvement District (fire and rescue) and look into options for when I leave here in January. For further details of my bad day, please refer to my next blog. It's a winner.

Finally some pictures.

Your Vacation is my Reality

First off, Happy Fourth of July Weekend! I wish I could be home for the party since I was a main petitioner in having one again, but alas I am here working the whole weekend.

I have had a great week thus far. I had two days off which is a nice way to break up the week. On Wednesday I met my Chief from the rescue squad and his family at Epcot. I accidently left my phone on Test Track and we had to hunt down the car we were in based on the photos and then wait for the car to come back around twice to get the phone. Ten minutes into the day I am somehow loosing something. We rode a few rides but then the sky opened up and it started pouring so we went back to their timeshare right outside of property and had lunch. Because it is Florida, the rain would not stop and only got harder so we stayed inside and I learned how to play Bananagrams. Being a huge fan of Scrabble and words, I instantly loved this game. This would make a great stocking stuffer, Mom. Being able to have a home cooked lunch and dinner with a family was really great and for an afternoon I felt I was back in Jersey.

Thursday I went to St. Augustines with a few people from work . It's a cute historic town about an hour and a half away which was perfect for a day trip. First we stopped at an Alligator farm because well, that's what they do in Florida. The entrance price was a whopping $20 bucks but I saw that if you were an EMT, FF, Police, or Dispatcher you got in for 20% off. Sweet. Get to the register, and the women said that I would be getting in for free and the rest of my party would be 20% off. These alligators were looking better and better. There were an assortment of reptiles and random monkeys but the alligators were ridiculously big. Big, fat, and lazy actually and all I wanted was for them to move or do something. Glad I didn't pay $20 bucks to see them sleeping.

Our next stop was the center of town which is really pretty. It was your typical tourist hot spot with a lot of shops, restaurants, and bars. We had reservations for a chocolate factory store and although I normally don't like chocolate especially when it is given in a stupid heart shaped box with the Wal-Greens price tag still on it I was up for a tour of a real chocolate factory. The guide was a minister with 7 kids, 7 grandkids and a tattoo. He was entertaining but the best part was sampling the chocolate, especially the key lime chocolate bar. I might re think my dislike for chocolate. After my fair share of chocolate, it was time for lunch/dinner since it was already almost 4 pm. We had time to kill before our night ghost/ history tour so we walked around and checked out the stores, did some wine tasting, and ended up Scarlett's restaurant and Rhett's Piano bar for happy hour. The ghost tour was a walking tour around the city that was mostly history about how the city came about and of how the place is thought to be haunted. It was pretty cool and I learned a lot like how the terms saved by the bell, graveyard shift, and how Home and Garden is responsible for changing the Parlor into Living Room.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it was back to work but not until I met with with the Hoffmans again at Animal Kingdom. Once again I left my phone on the Dinosaur ride but realized it much faster then the other day. We had lunch at Rainforest Cafe then I had to head back to work for a fun filled rainy afternoon. Saturday, as many of you reading this know, was the rebirth of the 4th of July party. You all know this because you were there and I wasn't. However, I called on my break and got to talk to many of you and hear about all the delicious food you were eating while I was eating Mac and Cheese. The perk was at the end of the night packing up the movie a lifeguard and I looked up and saw a shooting star. I shoulda made a wish......

Monday I was able to meet the Hoffman kids up in the morning before work at Hollywood studios. Even though it was the holiday, the park wasn't crowded at all and I was able to walk back to work to start my shift. It didn't feel like 4th of July but we still had a fun hot day at the pool. At night I was able to hang out with friends from work and we went to JellyRolls, the dueling piano bar at our Boardwalk. It was really fun especially since cast members get in for free. The view from the bar was of the Epcot fireworks so we got to stay inside and watch them without a crowd of people around and continue the fun. The fireworks were awesome but I honestly don't get the fascination with them. Maybe it's because I see them everyday but even before that I hadn't understood what made them so romantic and special. I hadn't eaten anything all day so drinking was probably not a good idea and I would say it was a rookie mistake but I have lectured my residents for years on how to drink responsibly and seen the outcome of bad decision making. Luckily Lauren came over after work and she ended up taking me home since I was four deep and drunk texting mom. When we got home I passed out on the couch and woke up at 8 with a glass of water, tylenol, and a garbage can next to me. I somehow only had one shoe on and Lauren put a blanket over me. She is just the best. I have the next three days off in case you were all worried I went to work today.

There is so much more to what happened this past week, but I honestly don't know where to begin! It was great having visitors, heading out to the parks, spending time with friends, and having responsible fun. I hope everyone is having a great summer and it has been officially a month since I've been here. Time really does fly by!

O I would add pictures but I bought an external HD and took stuff off my computer and now I can't get pictures off my camera and saved to the computer so now I'm stuck back in the same issues of not showing off my pictures.
